CBD Vape Juice – All you need to know
You might be aware of the much-hyped CBD products available in the market, including CBD vape juice. If you’re not familiar with CBD, it is a type of compound called a “cannabinoid” derived from hemp, a type of Cannabis plant. Although it comes from a plant often associated with a ‘high’, CBD alone does not cause any psychoactive effects. It is an entirely different cannabinoid, i.e. THC, which causes these euphoric effects.
There are different types of CBD products available in various forms. Aside from CBD oil, tinctures, edibles, and topical products, CBD Vape juice are also becoming more and more popular among users. But how CBD-e-liquids are helpful, and how they are made?
Read on to learn more about the benefits of CBD vape juice.
Benefits of CBD Vape juice:
So, what does CBD vape juice do? It is believed that CBD helps the human endocannabinoid system function better by balancing its processes. Every human contains an endocannabinoid system responsible for many functions that contribute to homeostasis (the state of steady internal physical conditions maintained by the body). These functions include pain, mood, sleep, inflammation, immune system, memory, stress, and much more.
Pain Relief:
CBD is most commonly used for chronic pain, muscle and joint pain, exercise-induced pain, arthritis, headaches – just about any type of pain! CBD is thought to be effective for pain relief due to its anti-inflammatory properties and the fact that it may balance the endocannabinoid system, which regulates pain response.
Reduces Stress and Anxiety:
One of the most common effects of CBD e-liquid reported by vapers is how it helps induce calmness when anxiety or stress becomes overwhelming. Since the endocannabinoid system regulates our anxiety and stress responses, CBD may help balance this and deal with unnecessary feelings of anxiety (i.e., when we experience anxiety that is not a result of a genuinely threatening situation – like being chased!) Many people choose to vape CBD for this reason due to the fast-acting relief.
Induces Sleep:
There are many factors responsible for insomnia or sleep problems, including stress, anxiety, depression and pain – all of which CBD may be able to help with. CBD may help manage sleep disorders by treating the root causes. In addition, it’s thought that the endocannabinoid system helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle. Therefore, CBD may be able to help you fall asleep, stay asleep for an appropriate amount of time, and feel more awake and rested during the day.
What are CBD E-Liquids made from?
CBD e-liquids are very similar to normal e-liquids, except they contain CBD. Just like all e-liquids, they have a combination of VG and PG. VG stands for vegetable glycerin, and PG stands for propylene glycol. These are both colourless, odourless liquids used in foods, cosmetics, and, of course, e-liquids.
Different e-liquids use different ratios of these two components. The ratio for CBD e-liquids is usually 50/50, which creates an ideal balance between flavour delivery and vapour production, and makes it more suitable for devices with low power consumption.
Taste of CBD-E-Liquids:
CBD is described as having a very interesting taste which can vary depending on the form in which it’s consumed. But overall, it is common to describe CBD as having an earthy taste, with notes of some terpenes (similar to the smell of pine trees or aromatic plants such as lavender).
The taste of CBD can sometimes be more bitter and earthy, depending on the type that you take; for instance, when using CBD paste, since the whole plant is extracted and includes the taste of the plant. But other forms of CBD are practically tasteless, such as some CBD oils made from CBD Isolates, CBD Crystals or Isolates, and CBD edibles.
Therefore, it depends on the form of CBD which you take, and there is always the option of switching to a more neutral-tasting form of CBD if the one you’re taking is too bitter.
Consumption and Uses:
As we’ve already touched on, one of the primary benefits of consuming CBD in the form of e-liquids is that it can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream after initially passing through the lungs. With vaping, CBD can reach your circulation four times faster than with oral consumption techniques.
Vaping essentially translates into a maximum bioavailability of around 50 or 60%, with the equivalent figure for oral consumption estimated at 15%. So, for every 100 milligrams of CBD you vape, you can expect between 50% and 60% to reach your bloodstream directly.
Consequently, CBD can achieve the same physical and mental effects even when a smaller amount is consumed, which lowers the cost to customers and enables them to minimise their daily dosage.
Example:
If we have a 30 mL bottle of CBD vape juice containing 1000 mg CBD in total. We would divide 1000 by 30 and get approximately 33. That means each mL of that bottle contains about 33 mg. If we put that into a 1 mL cartridge or vape tank, that means we now have 33 mg of CBD in it. If your vape tank holds more than 1 mL, multiply it by the total capacity of your tank. For example, if we have a 2 ml capacity tank, now our total CBD content has doubled to 66 mg per tank, and so on.
